It does seem more likely than not that the Portuguese Police may well be incompetent.

Clearly they should have done a lot more than they did immediately after the alleged abduction of this child. They not only failed to react then, but failed to perform forensic tasks that should have been performed. As another said they put one in mind of Inspector Cluzot meeting the Keystone Cops.

Unfortunately they now seek to use the good names of the Mc.Canns to cover up their own inefficiency.

Hopefully our own Government is doing all it might be proper to do, in support of not only this British couple, but too their three children.

This incident is yet another nail in the coffin of the European Treaty. We must have a REFERENDUM before proceeding further.
